Abstract
ABSTRACT THE MOSQUE STRATEGY TO IMPROVE UMMAH WELFARE (THE PLENARY MOSQUES IN PEKANBARU CITY) AHMAD HIDAYATULLAH 162310220 The economic development of the Ummah is a series of efforts to develop and increase the dignity of the community, especially the Islamic community from the poverty and economic backwardness. In other words, it is an effort to build the independence of Muslims in the economic field. The problem formulation of this study is how the potential and strategy of plenary mosques in the districts of Pekanbaru City to improve the Ummah Welfare. The aim of this study is to investigate the potential of plenary mosques in Pekanbaru City to improve the Ummah Welfare and to find out the strategies carried out by the plenary mosques in Pekanbaru city to improve the Ummah Welfare. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative research. The social reality show that the plenary mosques of the districts in Pekanbaru City have carried out the economic development of the Ummah. The informants of this study are the chairmans or secretaries of the mosque management. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observations and documentation. The procedures of data analysis are data preparation, editing, coding, and data presentation. The result of the study show that the Abidin plenary mosque in Lima Puluh District, the Al-Falah Darul Muttaqin Plenary Mosque in Pekanbaru kota District and the Muamalah Plenary Mosque in Sukajadi District have the potential to carry out the program of Ummah Welfare. The strategies that needs to be implemented are providing skill trainings for the Ummah as well as the sharia microfinance institutions for the Ummah and optimizing the mosque business.
