Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the interaction effect of various organic fertilizers and Herbafarm on the growth of red betel cuttings. The research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM.11, No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, for 4 months starting from March to June 2021. The research design used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is various kinds of organic fertilizers consisting of 4 levels, namely without organic fertilizer, corn litter compost, bokashi leaves of ketapang, and goat manure 250 g/polybag. The second factor is herbfarm consisting of 0, 2, 4 and 6 ml. Parameters observed were age of budding, number of shoots, number of leaves, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate and plant dry weight. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of various organic fertilizers and herbfarm on the growth of red betel cuttings affected the age of budding, number of leaves, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate and plant dry weight. The best treatment was goat manure organic fertilizer 250 g/polybag with herbfarm 6 ml/l water. The main effect of various organic fertilizers on all parameters observed with the best treatment of goat manure 250 g/polybag. The main effect of herbfarm affects all observation parameters with the best treatment 6 ml/l water.
