Abstract

ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF AGRICULTURAL ZAKAT (A Case Study of Coconut Farmers in Tegal Rejo Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency) IFAN SYAFRUDIN HIDAYATULLAH 152310188 The background of this study is a concept that zakat is a pillar of Islam that must be implemented when the nisab and haul have reached. Agricultural zakat is one of the kinds of zakat that must be issued at harvest and the nisab is the same as rice. Understanding is the ability to explain and interpret something. This study aims to investigate the level of public understanding of agricultural zakat in Tegal Rejo Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency especially for hybrid coconut farmers. The problem formulation of this study is how the level of public understanding of coconut farming zakat in Tegal Rejo Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The subject of this study is the community in Tegal Rejo Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, while the object of this study is the public understanding of agricultural zakat. The type of this study is field research. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. While the data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive method. The total population of this study consists of 85 people taken by using the slovin formula. Based on the respondents' answers, the results of this study show that the analysis of public understanding of agricultural zakat in Tegal Rejo Village, Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir Regency is “good” with a percentage of 64.70 %. It is necessary to conduct socialization in order to make the people understand more about agricultural zakat.
