Abstract
This study aims to: (1) analyze the characteristics of independent oil palm smallholders in Peranap Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency, (2) Analyze marketing channels, marketing margins and marketing efficiency of independent oil palm smallholders in Peranap Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency, (3) Analyze changes in prices (price transmission) at the level of oil palm farmers, palm oil wholesalers and palm oil mills (PKS) in Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The method used in this research is a survey. Data analysis used simple linear regression analysis and Nerlove model. This research started from March to August 2021. The number of samples in this study were 44 independent oil palm smallholders, 3 wholesalers and 1 palm oil mill (PKS). The results of this study indicate that (1) Independent oil palm smallholders in Peranap District are on average in productive age (45 years), length of education (9 years), farming experience (10 years) and the number of family dependents (3 people) (2) Marketing of oil palm FFB in Peranap Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency, there is one marketing channel (farmer-big trader-factory). Marketing efficiency is 12.74% and FFB marketing margin is Rp. 450/kg. (3) The price of FFB at the farm level is influenced by the factory price, the price of FFB at the traders responds to the price of FFB from farmers both in the short and long term, while the price of FFB from the factory does not respond to the price of FFB from farmers both in the short and long term and the price of FFB at the trader level. influenced by factory prices and responsive to traders' FFB prices both in the short and long term.
