Abstract

Course Review Horay is of method of cooperative learning that could be applied to guide students’ cooperation with each other in order to finish their job together. In this research it applied to reading comprehension. The feature of this method is the use of horay or other prefer yells if the student answer are correct and give a checklist on the answer card. The aims of this research is to find out the significant effect to students reading comprehension using course review horay method. Research design used by this research is quasi experimental design. The sample was the third year student of SMPN 4 Bengkalis of 2018/2019 academic year. Total sample of this research was 20 students of IX B. The total meeting were five meetings, those were pre test, treatments three times, and post test. The form of tets was multiple choice with reading comprehension focus and report text topic. The research finding showed there was difference result between pre test and post test with the mean score 39,5 and 59,75. It means that students reading comprehension after used course review horay method is increase. With hyphotesting using T test it found that T calculated is bigger than T table (4,45>2,09). The null Hyphotesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. So, there was a significant effect of course review horay method toward students’ reading compreghension of the third year students of SMPN 4 Bengkalis.
