Abstract

The processing of produced fluids in the gathering system experiences problems with the presence of an emulsion, where this emulsion greatly influences the solubility of oil in water and the treatment process at the Central Gathering Station (CGS). This research was conducted because of the formation of emulsions in CGS X in the effluent wash tank within 3 months as many as 6 feet or as much as 16,425 bbls and if not addressed or the height of the emulsion in the wash tank is left will cause less quality of water sent to the water treating which causes frequent work done tank cleaning (high risk and abnormal work) which must be done every three months and the rest of the emulsion is sucked and discharged to the shelter, by doing so every three months is inefficient. CGS X Field X has an Oil Treating Plant (OTP) facility which in this study the process of separating water from oil was carried out by recycled the emulsion back into the incoming fluid upstream of the heat exchanger which would produce heat to increase the temperature of the emulsion. and reacts with demulsifiers and reverse demulsifiers to solve emulsions without increasing the costs of demulsifiers and reverse demulsifiers. The results of calculations on the recycle process obtained 7,909.07 bbls of emulsion recycles for one month and oil recovery of 5,201.05 bbls for one month. The ratio of total waste formed after recycle can be reduced by 50% to 53% of the total waste formed before the recycle process. The duration of using the tank before the recycle process is 3 months and the duration of using the tank after the recycle process is> 7 months.
