Abstract

In general, this study aims to analyze farming and marketing strategies for superior durian seedlings. Specifically, this study aims to: 1) analyze the characteristics of farmers and business profiles of durian breeding in Balam Jaya Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, 2) analyze farming techniques, costs, income, and business efficiency of durian breeding in Balam Jaya Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. , 3) analyzing the marketing strategy of durian seeds in Balam Jaya Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. This research was conducted in Balam Jaya Village from April 2021 to September 2021. The method used in this study was a survey method. The main data used is primary data. The data to be analyzed is processed by descriptive analysis, SWOT, and QSPM. The results of the research show that firstly: the characteristics of durian nursery farmers are 43 years of average productive age, 7 years of education on average, 3 family dependents on average, and 13 years of farming experience. This durian nursery business was started in 2007, the scale of this durian nursery business is classified as a small business scale and the use of labor comes from within the family, secondly: the production costs incurred are Rp. 4,256,368/ per production period/farming unit, gross income is Rp. 11,127,083/ per production period/farming unit, net income of Rp 6,870,716 and farming efficiency of 2,54, third: SWOT and QSPM strategies with the highest to lowest priority that can be applied are (1) Maintaining and maintaining the quality of durian seeds as well as good service to consumers, (2) Promoting durian seeds on social media (market place) and providing related information about the benefits of durian gardening, (3) Labeling durian seeds, (4 Adding business land for durian nurseries, either by buying land or by renting, (5) Improving good relations with seed agents and expanding marketing outside the area (6), Pet ani learns to make compost as an alternative/combination with chemical fertilizers, (7) Utilizes her experience and knowledge in overcoming problems in producing durian seeds and utilizing technology and social media to increase knowledge.
