Abstract

This research was correlational quantitative research. this research was motivated by the lack of students’ cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson. Research focus in this research stated about is there any influence of teachers’ communication competence on students’ cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson at Islamic Junior High School Yapimu Genduang Village Pangkalan Lesung Subdistrict Pelalawan Riau. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of teachers’ communication competence on students’ cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson at Islamic Junior High School Yapimu Genduang Village Pangkalan Lesung Subdistrict Pelalawan Riau. The subject used in this research involved all class VIII students at Islamic Junior High School Yapimu Genduang Village Pangkalan Lesung Subdistrict Pelalawan Riau. The population took class VIII MTs Yapimu in 35 students. this research consisted of two variables where communication competence (Variable X) and cognitive achievement (variable Y). research finding showed that the was any influence of communication competence on cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson. It could be seen from data computation used IBM SPSS statistic 22 for windows that simple regression analysis got significant score less than 0.05 where 0.000 < 0.05. then, the hypothesis that stated any influence of teachers’ communication competence on students’ cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson at Islamic Junior High School Yapimu Genduang Village Pangkalan Lesung Subdistrict Pelalawan Riau was accepted. The influence score between communication competence (variable X) gave big contribution 99.9% on cognitive achievement (variable y), meanwhile 0.1% cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson was influenced by other factors that should not be researched. It meant that the influence of teachers’ communication competence on students’ cognitive achievement in fiqh lesson at Islamic Junior High School Yapimu Genduang Village Pangkalan Lesung Subdistrict Pelalawan Riau was in “very strong” Category.
