Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem of religious character that happened to Islamic religion education students at Islamic religion faculty of Islamic university of Riau. One of problems happened to Islamic religion education students such as they did not pray before and after learning, always coming late when lecturers came and did not greet the lecturers, then some students did not follow religious agenda at campus. As Islamic religious student, he/she has to show good character in Islamic religion field. To solve the problem, the application of faith learning has to appropriate with students‘ need at Islamic religion education students at Islamic university of Riau. The purpose in this research was to find out the influence of faith learning on religious character of Islamic religion education students at Islamic University of Riau. This is quantitative method with correlation approach. This research involved 91 respondents by using slovin formula because the populations were more than 100 students. In collecting data, it used questionnaires and documentation. Based on the hypothesis analysis, the significant value was p= 0,013 < 0,05. It means there is significant influence of faith learning on religious character of Islamic religion education students at Islamic University of Riau. The percentage of influence can be seen from summary table with R square was 0.067 or 0.67% with low criterion. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of faith learning on religious character of Islamic religion education students at Islamic Religion Faculty of Islamic University of Riau.
