Abstract

Job stress is a condition of tension that affects one's emotions, ways of thinking, and physical condition. Therefore it is necessary to handle work stress well so that when the wife works comfortably, one way is to increase the husband's social support. This study aims to determine the relationship between husband's social support and work stress of wives working in banks. The subjects of this study were 123 employees of BRI Pekanbaru Bank. The subject taking technique used is sampel jenuh. Measuring instruments used were a work stress scale of 35 items and the husband's social support scale of 18 items. The analysis used in this study is the product moment correlation. The results of statistical analysis show the Sig-value 0.184 * (p <0.05), meaning that there is a significant relationship between husband's social support and work stress of the wife working at the Bank and make an effective contribution of 3.4% ,so the higher the husband's social support, the lower the work stress felt by the wife who works at the Bank.
