Abstract

This study aims to investigate the speech development of children aged 5-6 years at Islamic Kindergarten of YLPI Marpoyan. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative approach. Data analysis is carried out through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusions: drawing/verifying. The subject of this study is 19 children in group B3. The results of this study indicate the linguistic aspects of 19 children in group B3. The results of data analysis are: 1) The aspect of pronunciation is "very well developed" because children are able to name, identify gender, say syllables, and communicate verbally. 2) The aspect of vocabulary development is "very well developed" because children are able to use pronouns, adjectives, nouns, conjunctions, and show the concept of time. 3) The aspect of forming sentences is "very well developed" because the children are able to say sentences that consist of 6-8 words in a sentence and arrange simple sentences. 4) The aspect of speech content is "very well developed" because the children are able to communicate centered on themselves and others. 5) The aspect of courage is "very well developed" because the children are brave to ask questions, express their desires, rejections and opinions. 6) The aspect of fluency is "very well developed" because the children are able to speak fluently in simple sentences and provide information about daily experiences. 7) The aspect of expression or gestures is "very well developed" because the children are able to show expression when talking.
