Abstract

This study aims to determine the existence of the Telintin Ambun Dance in the Ritual of Upright Treatment in the Talang Mamak Tribe Shaman in Talang Perigi Village, Rakit Kulim District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The research method is descriptive, data analysis, qualitative research, totaling 9 people as resouce person. Data collection techniques are (1)observation, (2) interviews, (3) documentation. The theory of the existence of dance used is the theory according to UU Hamidy(2005:56). Which states that the elements of dance include : (1)movement, (2)music, (3)floor Design, (4)theme, (5)makeup, (6)costume. The funcation of the Telintin Ambun Dance in the Ritual of the Upright Bedukun is as an offering for the sick in Talang Perigi Village, as for the movements used in the Telintin Ambun dance , namely: opening prayer movements, circular movements, and closing prayers. The researcher aims to determine the existence of the Telintin Ambun dance in the Ritual of Upright Treatment of the shaman Talang Mamak tribe in Talang Perigi Village, Rakit Kulim district, Indragiri Hulu Regency.
