Abstract

T well is known to have experienced a decline in the rate of oil production caused by formation damage. To increase the rate of oil production, the matrix acidizing stimulation is carried out. Formation damage that often occurs is caused by drilling activities, production activities, and scalling. Matrix acidizing is defined as an injection of acid into the formation porosity where the injection pressure is smaller than the formation fracture pressure. The successful of this acidification process depends on the method that used, the type of acid that used, and the concentration of acid that will be used. The type of acid used in the RMA Field “T” Well is hydrochloric acid (HCL). The concentration of hydrochloric acid (HCL) that used is 15% as it can dissolve the scale that may cause damage to the formation. Evaluation of this matrix acidizing stimulation is based on several parameters, based on the production flow rate, based on index productivity (PI), the IPR curve uses the vogel method. Based on the evaluation, the RMA Field "T" Well before matrix acidizing stimulation had a 165 BFPD fluid flow rate with Pwf of 763.25 psi, oil flow rate of 23.1 BOPD, productivity index (PI) of 0.5 BFPD/psi. Whereas after matrix acidizing stimulation has 208 BFPD fluid flow rate with Pwf of 759.36 psi, oil flow rate of 31.2 BOPD, productivity index (PI) of 0.6 BFPD / psi. Then the application of matrix acidizing stimulation in the "T" well RMA field is declared successful.
