Abstract

ABSTRACT Phenomenology of Masculine Women on Pekanbaru City Instagram Social Media Anggita NandaRini 179110004 In a big city like Pekanbaru, we find many women who are male-style in terms of clothing, behavior and hair style. However, in reality, many people still accept their existence, there are no masculine women who are ostracized or considered that what they are doing is not right. It all depends on their respective decisions, they are free to label themselves, and build an image in society. This study focuses on social media Instagram and women because in Indonesia Instagram users are dominated by women aged 10-24 years old and unmarried according to the Population and Family Planning Agency. This study used 5 informants, a student. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study get 2 important points. The first result is In order to motive phenomenology of masculine women on social media Instagram Pekanbaru City. The second result is Because motives for the phenomenology of masculine women in Pekanbaru City Instagram social media. The purpose of masculine women in posting photos and videos on Instagram is to want to be themselves, as well as comfort when they exercise because the informant is an athlete. The motivating factor for the informant to be comfortable with his appearance is due to parental support, habits from childhood, and being influenced by past trauma.
