Abstract

The effectiveness of wet combustion is determined by the right air-water ratio to be able to produce bitumen optimally. The most optimal water-air ratio occurs in super wet combustion conditions, in this condition the heat generated can be distributed very well, in the same time span as the SAGD – ISC hybrid process, super wet combustion can reach further formations to be heated, it indicates The rapid rate of combustion that occurs in a formation within a certain period of time is known as Wet Fast Incineration Combustion Assisted Gravity Drainage (Wet-FICAGD). In this study, modeling with CMG STARS simulation was carried out, in which 5 scenarios were made with a water-air ratio configuration of 0.33 m3/Mm3, 0.05 m3/Mm3, 0.72 m3/Mm3, 1.22 m3/Mm3, and 3 m3/ Mm3. From the simulation results, it is found that the most optimal water-air ratio is obtained with a ratio configuration of 3 m3/Mm3. Wet-FICAGD was able to increase bitumen recovery by 14.3% compared to hybrid SAGD – ISC, which reached 54.1% OOIP. The combustion speed that occurs is able to increase the average temperature in the formation when compared to the SAGD-ISC hybrid, which is 210°C on the Wet-FICAGD and 157°C on the SAGD-ISC hybrid.
