Abstract
ABSTRACT Debby Devinta Aprilia, 2021, Thesis, Construction of Reading Assessment in Indonesian Language Learning at Public Junior High Schools in Bukit Raya Sub-District, Pekanbaru City. Research entitled “Construction of Reading Assessments in Indonesian Languange Learning at Public Junior High Schools in Bukit Raya Sub-District, Pekanbaru City”. This study aims to determine how the construction of reading assessment in Indonesian language leraning at public junior high schools in Bukit Raya Sub-District, Pekanbaru City. This research method uses a qualitative type of phenomenological method. The data sources are Indonesian language teachers, totaling five people. Data collections using in-depth interview technique and documentation. Data analysis technique that is grouping the similarity of meaning in research. The results of research on the construction of reading assessment on descriptive text material include several sub-themes including understanding the object, understanding the content of the content, understanding the main ide, understanding the main ide, understanding the main idea paragraph of the paragraph, determining the general statement if the text, understanding the description of the text, determining the closing of the text, the logic of the text, the use of words, the use of figure speech, the use of affixes, ambiguous words, the use of sentence patterns, the use of sentence forms, sentence sequences, sentence analysis, word pronunciation, intonation, use of punctuation marks, use of capital letters, use of EYD, interpret words, and conclude the contents of the text. While the construction of reading assessment on short story text material has sub-themes, namely determining the theme, determining the mandate, determining the intrinsic element, determining the characterizations, determining the setting, determining the plot, determining the point of view, determining the extrinsic element, determining the abstraction, determining the orientation, determining the complications, determining the evaluation, determining the resolution, use of figure of speech, use of pronouns, use of conjuction, suitability of ideas, sentence form, sentence patterns, use of capital letters, word pronunciation, intonation, punctuation, use of EYD, conclude short stories, and accuracy of pronunciation. The conclusion of the research on the construction of reading assessment in Indonesian language learning in public junior high school in the description text material and short story text are the assessment of literal understanding, assessment of interpretative understanding, assessment of understanding anguage and writing symbols, and assessment of critical understanding.
