Abstract

The research was carried out at the Laboratory of 3 Pests and Diseases of the Seed Center Tropical Fruit Solok Aripan, Km.8 District X. Koto Singkarak, Regency Solok, West Sumatra for two months starting from June 2021 until by August 2021. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of some concentration of cinnamon essential oil to control disease sharp tip rot of salak fruit caused by the fungus Thielaviopsis paradox. This study was compiled using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non factorial with 5 treatments and 5 replications, each replication consisted of 4 units petridish to obtain 100 experimental units. The treatment factor consisted of 0%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.15% and 0.20% cinnamon essential oil. Observation parameters observed were inhibition, fungal growth rate, mushroom color, the number of spores and the shape of the hyphae. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) further test. at the 5% level. The results showed that cinnamon essential oil give significant effect on all observation parameters. Treatment The best method is giving cinnamon essential oil with a concentration of 0.1%, 0.15% and 0.20%.
