Abstract

Hydrobrake is setting the braking mechanism that uses fluid. Where the material in the form of fluid is used as a tool to continue the braking force of the brake pedal. This causes the material (fluid) does not have compression properties, so it is good for channeling pressure on gasoline and diesel engines. In addition, the prospect of consumer demand is in need of motor vehicles with stable engine and fuel performance, and the prospect of consumer demand for fuel using hydrobrake loading is increasingly increasing in line with the increasing population. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in fuel on the performance of the 22 HP SPE460 GP motoyama engine by loading Hydrobrake. In Pertamax turbo fuel with greater loading that is 227 Nm the torque value is greater that is 29.51 Nm, because of the more perfect combustion that affects combustion, good combustion pushes the piston faster from TMA to TMB then produces high pressure and the increase in torque from Pertamax turbo fuel affects the power even higher, which is 61.77 kW. Thus making the combustion in the combustion chamber stable or perfect and resulting in the use of specific fuels will be smaller (more economical) which is 0.0145 kg / hour.kW. The higher heat value (LHV) affects the greater loading of the ydrobrake which causes better combustion of the combustion chamber so that the thermal efficiency increases by 92%.
