Abstract

The cooling system in the engine is very important to cool the engine's hot temperature due to the combustion process that takes place in the cylinder. Combustion heat will cause an increase in temperature in engine parts, such as cylinder walls, cylinder heads, valves and pistons, so that it will cause disruption to the engine and piston and cylinder walls become thirsty quickly. Air conditioning systems or fins are usually used on small capacity machines and engines with stationary or stationary conditions. In this study, the engine used is stationary, so it needs assistance air as a cooling medium in the engine. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the velocity of air that circulates on the cylinder block using the Pertamax turbo Ron 98 fuel, with variations in the blower air velocity of 10 m / s, 15 m / s, 20 m / s and 25 m / s. Data generated from testing using turbo Pertamax fuel with variations in air speed affect the performance of gasoline engines. The results obtained from testing the higher the air velocity that passes through the slinder block, the engine performance is increasing and the use of fuel is more efficient or economical.
