Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PLN Riau and Riau Islands public relations communication in implementing environmental social responsibility (TJSL) programs in the community of Koto Mesjid Village, Kampar Regency. The success of the company's program can be determined based on effective communication or not. Where the effectiveness of communication is the success of communication because of the similarity of messages or meanings between the communicator and the communicant. The research was conducted using descriptive quantitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation and questionnaires. Then to find out the research sample that will be the respondents in this study, it was obtained using the Slovin formula and the sampling technique used was probability sampling, proportionate stratified sampling, with a total sample of 96 respondents. Then the data obtained from the sample was tested with product moment and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.972. So that the research results obtained through data analysis with the T test obtained an average value of > 3.5 on the effectiveness of communication. Then to prove the hypothesis that was built, the T test was used with a significance value of 0.000. However, the Anova test results obtained a value of 0.418 which means that there is no significant difference with each variable dimension on the communication effectiveness variable. As well as the hypothesis that has been built, it is proven that there is an effectiveness of public relations communication between PLN Riau Region and Riau Islands in implementing environmental social responsibility (TJSL) programs in the community of Koto Mesjid Village, Kampar Regency.
