Abstract
ABSTRACT Rahmiati 2020. AN ANALYSIS OF DEIXIS FOUND IN STUDENT’ ENGLISH TEXTBOOK FOR GRADE X SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL BY MASMEDIA. Thesis. Pekanbaru: English Study Program. Education and Teacher Training Faculty. Islamic University of Riau. Advisor : Johari Afrizal S.Pd., M.Ed Keywords: Analysis, Deixis, Deixis in Textbook The aims of this research were to find out deixis words and the context of it in conversation in the English textbook are founded in the students’ English textbook for grade X senior high school. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of the research was the utterances contained of deixis in English Textbook “English Grade X Senior High School by Masmedia”. The result of the research showed that the total of deixis founded in student English textbook were 122 deixis word or phrase of sixth chapters contained deixis of utterances.
