Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Angklung extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 2 Singingi Hilir, Kuantan Singingi Hilir Regency, Riau Province. According to the KBBI (2002:291) extracurricular activities are activities that are outside the program written in the curriculum and carried out outside of compulsory lesson hours. Angklung is a musical instrument or art waditra made of special bamboo which was invented by Mr. Daeng Sutigna. H.M, Rahmat (2008:6). The theory used in this study is the theory according to Suryosubroto (2009:77) including the objectives of extracurricular implementation, extracurricular implementation materials, extracurricular implementation methods, extracurricular implementation facilities and evaluation of extracurricular implementation. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, researchers observe the implementation of angklung extracurricular and present descriptive data. Data collection techniques used are interviews and observation. The findings of this study stated that the activities carried out in preparation for implementation were by arranging programs at the end of the semester. The implementation of extracurricular activities is carried out twice a week, if the school gets an invitation to fill an art performance event, the coach will increase the training schedule to four times a week but still do it outside of compulsory school hours. The method used by the coach in carrying out extracurricular activities is the lecture and demonstration method.
