Abstract

The khauf characteristic is a habit or behavior of someone who has a fear of God because of the recognition and love for God deeply and only to expect God's grace, so if someone establishes a mistake, he feels worried if God leaves him / forgets him and afraid of God's torture. This study aims to determine the description of khauf characteristics on Islamic boarding school students in Pekanbaru. The subjects in this study are 169 people who are selected by using cluster random sampling techniques. The data collection instruments are khauf characteristic scale consisting of 34 items compiled by Septianis, Putri, Damayanti and Dewi (2019) and has been modified by researchers. The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis. The result shows that the khauf characteristic on Islamic boarding school students in Pekanbaru is in the medium category of 34.3% with a total of 58 people. If viewed from gender, age and class it is found that there are no significant frequency differences on each level of khauf characteristics. It can be concluded that, the khauf characteristic possessed by male and female students tends to be same in moderate category. Although there is no significant frequency difference on each category on grade 10, 11, and 12 students, based on descriptive data it is found that the biggest frequency of 12 grade is in the high category.
