Abstract

The study aims to determine to effects of the exchange rate, interest rate, inflation, world oil price and the dow jones index on the composite stock price index on the Indonesia stock exchange in the 2014-2018 period. The number of observation used in this study is 360 observations. This research uses a quantitative approach with multiple linier regression analysis and uses stasionarity test in processing because there are time series data. The result showed that the USD/IDR exchange rate variable, world oil price and the dow jones index had a significant effect on the composite stock price index. While the interest rate and inflation did not significantly influence the composite stock price index. This because investors in Indonesia often make short-term investmentsin the hope of getting higher capital gains on the capital market tan on SBI. While inflation does not affect the composite stock price index because as long as the inflation rate is still below 10%, the composite stock price index in the capital market will not be disrupted.
