Abstract

Along with the development of an increasingly and modern era, the involvement of women is not only limited to be a housewife but women are also involved in the world of work and business. But for a working woman, it is possible to feel work stress because of family factors such as work family conflict. This study aims to know the relationship between work family conflict with work stress on female employees of Mother and Child Hospital X Pekanbaru. The population of this study was 72 female employees of Mother and Child Hospital X Pekanbaru using saturated sampling techniques. Data collection used two scales, they are the scale of work family conflict with work stress. After the data is collected, the data is processed using the product moment analysis technique from Pearson. This study shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between work family conflict with work stress with r = 0.436 and p = 0,000. Therefore, the higher the work family conflict, the higher the work stress, and conversely the lower the work family conflict, the lower the work stress. The work family conflict condition of female employees is in the medium category and the level of work stress is in the medium category. The contribution of work family conflict in determining the level of work stress of female employees is 19%.
