Abstract

ABSTRACT Countries that are members of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) agree to have economic relations with China. Since the entry into force of the ACFTA (ASEAN-China free trade area) Agreement on January 1 2010, Indonesia seems to be a country that is always flooded with foreign products. Even the dependence of the Indonesian state on imported products is increasingly endangering the national industry if this is not immediately addressed. The impact that was felt on the existence of the agreement was by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) traders in Pasar Bawah, Pekanbaru City who sold Imported Garlic. This makes domestic economic conditions more difficult with the flood of imported garlic products from China in Pekanbaru City. Based on the above background, the authors are interested in conducting research on this matter by taking the main problem, namely How the Impact of the ACFTA Agreement on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (imported garlic traders) in Pekanbaru City and the obstacles faced in implementing the Protection of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises against Impact of ACFTA Agreement (imported garlic traders) in Pekanbaru City. The research method used in this study is descriptive observational research with data collection tools, namely interviews. The reason the author took this research method was to be able to assess government policies in protecting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the Impact of the ACFTA Agreement with the free entry of Chinese products into Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the impact of the ACFTA Agreement on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pasar Bawah, Pekanbaru City, all garlic traders only sell imported garlic from China. Meanwhile, the obstacles encountered are the low awareness of traders or business actors to register their businesses and from related agencies also not paying attention to the situation that occurs to help business actors in Pekanbaru City in funding and coaching for business actors to be able to compete globally with the entry imported products after the ACFTA Agreement.
