Abstract
GEOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS MARMER IN KAMANG MAGEK VILLAGE, TILATANG KAMANG DISTRICT, AGAM REGENCY, WEST SUMATERA PROVINCE Ratif Dwilana 153610212 Geological Engineering ABSTRACT Geochemistry aims to determine the distribution and information of mineral deposits in the form of general surface geological data and subsurface data (petrographic testing) as information on the potential for mineral deposits in the area to be used as an energy resource. The research area is located in the village of Kamang Magek, Tilatang Kamang District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province. This research was conducted to determine the geological aspects, mineral characteristics, distribution, and mineral potential of the area. The research method used petrographic analysis and XRF analysis on the rocks contained in the outcrop. The results of the study are geological data (secondary data), namely parallel flow patterns, steep hill geomorphological units of karst, and lithological units, namely marble rocks. Minerals with the highest peak value were Calcite, and the largest mineral distribution was Calcite (61,59%), Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) 20,5%, Silica (SiO2) 6,88%, Iron Oxide (Fe2O3) 5,74%, Magnesium Oxide (MgO) 2,66%, and Potassium Oxide (K2O) 2,63%. in the research area. The use of minerals in the research area is in the form of Calcite and Aluminum minerals which can be used as textile materials, pesticide production, sugar screening, glass making, and industry.
