Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics learning tool in the form of a Learning Implementation Plan (LIP) and Student Worksheet (SW) with a Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model accompanied by the valid Visual Thinking Approach for class IX Junior High School. For developing of this mathematics learning device is used the R&D development method with the Plomp development model, namely: 1) Initial Investigation Phase, 2) Design Phase, 3) Realization/Construction Phase, 4) Test Phase, Evaluation and Revision, 5) Implementation Phase. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation which causes learning in schools to be carried out online, the Plomp development model only carried out until 4th phase. The data collection instruments wer used the LIP validation sheet and the SW validation sheet. The data collection technique was used a non-test technique in the form of a questionnaire validation sheet which was given to 4 validators, namely 2 lecturers of mathematics education at Faculty Education and Learning Islamic University of Riau and 2 mathematics teachers for class IX of 9th Junior high school Pekanbaru city. The data analysis technique is used descriptive analysis. From the results of the study, the results of the LIP validation were 77.61% with the valid validation level and SW 78.97% with the valid validation level. Based on the results of this development research, it was obtained that mathematics learning tools with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model were accompanied by a visual thinking approach that had been tested for validity.
