Abstract

This research discusses the problem of motivational school children into gang members in Pekanbaru. This is in the background of the frequent brawl in one of the young children of Pekanbaru. The brawl made by the teenagers is not merely a bare-handed brawl, but a brawl using sharp weapons and from the very beginning has been intended to kill the opponent. Most of the perpetrators are teenagers aged 14-20 years old, and they are students at several schools in Pekanbaru city. But in this research, I would like to know what motivating school children still in education, prefer to be incorporated into gang members. The authors use a qualitative method of case study approaches focusing on data collection through field observations, as well as in-depth interviews to several key informant and additional informant. Of these methods are found several factors causing a schoolboy to be a member of the gang; Factor of the influence of friends who've first participated in the gang, as well as the lack of attention from the social environment. Teenagers will tend to look for groups with a lot of similarities to themselves both in terms of their mindset, emotions, or social background. It is the one who lubricated the youth to join a gang group, because they think they have something in common and will feel better in the gang.
