Abstract

The research carried out aims to describe the implementation of learning arts and culture (kuala deli dance) in class VII MTsN 3 Pekanbaru City in the academic year 2019/2020. The method used in this research is interactive qualitative descriptive analysis method. The data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. Observations made are non-participant observation, interviews conducted are structured interviews, while the documentation that researchers get ini the frorm of photos of teaching and learning activities and documents used. Subjects in this study were 36 people consisting of 1 art teacher and 35 students of class VII.5 MTsN 3 Pekanbaru City. In the implementation of art and culture learning activities, teacher are guided by the curriculum, syllabus, learning implementation plans, methods, facilities and infrastructures as well as evaluations. The results of this study indicate that in implementing the process of learning arts and culture (kuala deli dance), teachers use the 2013 curriculum, the syllabus is used in accordance with the established curriculum and the RPP is arranged according to the specified curriculum and syllabus. The material learned in this cultural and artistic learning is dance movements based on the level and pattern of the floor and the material of the kuala deli dance. In the quality of the kuala deli dance, students are required to demonstrate the kuala deli dance. The evaluation was carried out in accordance with what was determined in the 2013 curriculum, namely, there were three aspects that became an assessment of student learning processes, affective assessment (attitude), cognitive (knowledge) and psychomotor (skills). In its implementation, students can do well according to their respective abilities.
