Abstract

The Effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Model on Mathematical Communication Skills of Class X Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru YOZY LOVITA SARI NPM. 166410371 Thesis. Mathematics Study Program. FKIP Islamic University of Riau Advisor: Endang Istikomah, S.Pd., M.Ed ABSTRACT This quasi-experimental research aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the mathematical communication skills of class X Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru. Mathematical communication skills are one of the basic mathematical abilities that must be mastered by students. Through communication, there is a process of delivering ideas or ideas verbally or in writing so as to create an understanding. The population of this research is all grade X students majoring in Natural Sciences / MIA Specialization in Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2019/2020. The sample of this study was students of class X.MIA 1 and X. MIA 4 taken by purposive sampling technique. This study uses the nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Based on the results of the study concluded that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model affects the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills.
