Abstract

The role of parents in determining student learning outcomes is also critical. If parents give the role of education that is not good or not good for their children, it can lead to children's lack or even failure in the learning process. The role of parents is also essential in providing education to children who still do not understand about the pandemic that is endemic so that they can stay at home, so they are not easily infected or transmit the Covid-19 virus. This study aimed to analyze the role of parents in improving student learning outcomes during the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a type of field research using descriptive methods and analysis. The subjects in this study amounted to 3 parents of students. Sampling techniques that are often used are purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The methods used for data collection are observation, interviews and documentation. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that based on the observations and interviews, the role of parents in improving student learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic is very large and can affect the improvement of children's learning outcomes because with guidance, attention, motivation, facilities provided by parents to children. Children need it, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.
