Abstract

COMPARISON OF LEARNING MOTIVATION AND ECONOMIC LEARNING OUTCOMES IN SMA NEGERI 1 PAGARAN TAPAH DARUSSALAM BASED ON GENDER Widia Yolanda, Zakir Has widiayolanda07@gmail.com Islamic University of Riau ABSTRACT The inferior parietal brain functions to complete cognitive tasks, while the inferior parietal brain of the left hemisphere of women is larger than the male brain. This certainly affects student learning outcomes, namely the reporting of learning outcomes for male and female students. However, the aspect of student learning motivation cannot be denied during the Covid-19 pandemic, because learning is done online. Of course, online learning requires good motivation for each individual student to be motivated to learn well. Based on the results of observations made directly by the researcher in class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam, it can be seen that the number of female students who are active in learning is 28% (16 students), while male students are only 12% (7 students). This study aims to see: (1) learning motivation and learning outcomes of female students in SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam; (2) learning motivation and learning outcomes of students in SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam; and (3) comparison of learning motivation and learning outcomes in Economics at SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam based on gender. The population of this study were all students at SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam for the 2019/2020 academic year, while the research sample meant 127 students. The research design is included in the quantitative survey research, because this study intends to conclude the hypothesis, namely the comparative hypothesis. Student motivation and learning outcomes were analyzed by independent test (independent t-test) with a significance level of 0.05 using the IBM SPSS Statistic 20 application. Comparison through research results, it was found that the learning motivation and learning outcomes of female and male students in SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam is also supported by the statistical results of the test, namely the tcount for the learning motivation of male and female students is greater than the t-table value (4,820> 1,979) with a significance value of 0,000 or less than 0.05. While the t-count value for the learning outcomes of male and female students is greater than the t-table value (5.382> 1.979) with a significance value of 0.000 or less than 0.05. Thus, it can be said that there is a significant difference in the learning motivation and learning outcomes of male and female students in SMA Negeri 1 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam.
