Abstract

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF AGRICULTURAL PENYU LUH IN EMPOWERMENT OF TANI GROUP IN BATHIN SOLAPAN SUB-DISTRICT, BENGKALIS DISTRICT ABSTRACT AFRINALDI Farmer Group The role of the agricultural sector in the national economy is very important and strategic. This is mainly because the agricultural sector still provides employment for most of the population in rural areas and provides food for the population. Bathin Solapan Subdistrict is one of the areas whose territory is an agricultural area in Bengkalis Regency which generally works as a farmer. Some of the farmers in Bathin Solapan Subdistrict are recipients of subsidized fertilizer assistance from the Bengkalis Regency government. In this case, the performance of agricultural extension is highly expected so that all farmer groups, especially in the 3 assisted villages, namely Farmers Village, Buluh Manis Village, and Air Kulim Village, can get subsidized fertilizer assistance from the government. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of agricultural instructors in empowering farmer groups in the sub-district of Inner Solapan. Selection of informants as the source of research data using purposive sampling technique. The research was carried out by collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation and this research was carried out in 3 villages, namely the farmer village, buluh manis village, and air kulim village. In this research, the descriptive method is used, namely the collected data is classified according to its type and form and then presented descriptively. The indicators of this study are indicators of effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, accuracy, and responsiveness. The results of the study concluded that the performance of agricultural extension agents in empowering farmer groups in Bathin Solapan District was not good and effective, because the size of the target area and the large number of farmer groups being fostered made an agricultural extension worker overwhelmed in providing direction and input to farmer groups, especially in the 3 villages.
