Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of surveillance carried out by the environment and cleanliness of Pekanbaru City in monitoring medical waste in the hospital of Pekanbaru City and to determine the inhibiting factors for the implementation of medical waste supe rvision in the ho spital of Pekanbaru City. The data collection techniques used in this study ware observation, interview and documentation techniques . Then the data ana lysis technique in this study is qualitative. As for assessment indicator is (1) standard implementing of the ssupervision, (2) the result of the implementation of supervision, (3) comparison a standard by the result of the implementation of ssupervision, (4) the act of corrective. Based one the results of this research conducted by th e environmental and cleanliness department of Pekanbaru City is still not implemented . This is caused by the lack of supervision still, there is no budget from government and the attitude tolerance given to hospitals obey the less. For that it is suggested to the head of the environmnet and cleanliness department of Pekanbaru City need to be given education and training for supervisors, to go the budget for to get on the ground as well as providing strict sanctions for the hospital that are not conforming t o state rules
