Abstract
Appearance is one of supporting one’s self confidence, attractive appearance is not only seen from clothes but also from cleanliness and beauty of a person. In the current era of globalization, the need for cosmetics is increasing, one of which is an illegal face whitening cream that has many interested people, especially women. But on the one hand many are victims of illegal face whitening creams purchased on Instagram. The formulation of the problem in this study examines how to involve victims in a conversation about illegal facial whitening creams in Pekanbaru city. The research method use in this study is a qualitative study that is designed to the described the actual research of what is happening at the research site through research, evaluation and data analysis in order to obtain answer to problems that are well formulated and studied. The results of research that has been done show the victim has an involvement in the crime of the circulation of illegal face whitening creams, mistakes made buying through Instagram social media, products that don’t have BPOM permissions, are more concerned with security results in their use.
