Abstract

The success of cementing will have a good effect on the age of well production and to get good quality cement, it is necessary to add certain additive substances into the cement suspension to improve the quality of the cement. In this study, an alternative additive will be used, namely oil palm fly ash. The silica content (SiO2) contained in oil palm fly ash is absorbent so that it can reduce filtration loss and free water during cementing operations. This study uses an experimental research method, in this study testing the filtration loss and free water by adding palm oil fly ash additives with variations in the concentration of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, and 15% BWOC. Fly ash is filtered using a mesh size of 200. For filtration loss using a filter press type LPLT (Low Pressure Low Temperature) and for free water is determined using a measuring cup filled with cement suspension and allowed to stand for 2 hours until free water occurs on the top of the measuring cup . Filtration loss testing shows that each addition of palm oil fly ash additive can reduce the value of filtration loss. However, only the addition of palm oil fly ash additives at concentrations of 7.5%, 10% and 15% is permitted in filtration loss, which is 211.87 ml / min, 202.07 ml / min and 175.26 ml / min. The results of the free water test show that each addition of palm oil fly ash additives can also reduce free water, adding 10% additives yields of 3.5 ml and at concentrations of 15% yields of 3 ml. Analysis of Minitab software obtained significant linear regression results because each test obtained probability results smaller than 95% or 0.05. The filtration loss equation of 307.1 ˗ 9,772 concentrations, correlations of -0,970 and p-values of 0.001 were obtained. Free water equation 10.19 ˗ 0.6029 concentration, correlations value -0.862 and p-value 0.027.
