Abstract

ABSTRACT Afrindo (164110306) research with the title "Effect of Palm Oil Mill Liquid Waste and Paper Ash on the Growth of Hydrilla verticillata". This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11 No. 113 Pekanbaru. This research has been carried out for 4 months, December – March 2021 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hasan Basri Jumin, M.Sc. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction between palm oil mill effluent and writing paper ash on the growth of Hydrilla verticillata. The design used in the study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is Palm Oil Mill Liquid Waste (C) which consists of 4 levels, namely: 0, 150, 200 and 250 ml/l water. The second factor is Writing Paper Ash (A) which consists of 4 levels, namely: 0, 25, 50 and 75 g/l water. From these two treatments, 16 treatment combinations were obtained, repeated 3 times there were 48 experimental units, each experimental unit consisted of 6 plants and was used as a sample plant so that the number of plants was 288 plants. Observation parameters were: age of shoot emergence, relative growth rate, number of branches, number of leaves and shoot length. If the calculated F is greater than the F table, then it is continued with a further test of honest real difference (BNJ) at the level of 5%. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded as follows: The interaction of giving concentration of palm oil mill effluent and writing paper ash was significant for all observation parameters, where the best treatment was concentration of 150 ml/l of palm oil mill effluent and 50 g/l of writing paper ash (C1A2). ). The main effect of the concentration of palm oil mill effluent is real on all observation parameters, where the best treatment is the concentration of 150 ml/l of palm oil mill effluent (C1). The main effect of writing paper ash was real on all observation parameters, where the best treatment was 50 g/l of writing paper ash water (A2).
