Abstract
Public opinion is an expression of attitude about a controversial issue. Opinions arise as a result of talks about the current problem, which gives rise to different opinions. The purpose of this research is to find out how the opinions of non- Muslim students towards reporting the rejection of Ustad Abdul Somad in several regions in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach. Formation of opinion itself can occur because of the media. Therefore, the media agenda in the agenda setting emphasizes the relationship of judgment or attention given to the audience on the topic of the news. The results of this study indicate that the opinions or responses given by non-Muslim students to the news of Ustad Abdul Somad rejection that the rejection could occur because of a protest movement from some elements who reject it. This rejection also happened because of the political elements contained in his lecture. There are substances that are sometimes accepted by the majority, but on the other hand are not accepted by the minority. Therefore, this space must be addressed wisely for all lecturers.
