Abstract

Social deviation is behavior or behavior that deviates from the norms that already exist in society. In the city of Pekanbaru, there are many entertainment venues that are increasingly developing, such as mini cinemas or what are often called movie boxes. This movie box is suspected to have the potential to be a place that is misused to carry out deviant behavior. In this study, the problem will be reviewed using criminological theory, namely rational choice theory. The research was conducted using qualitative methods with descriptive research type. The data sources that support this research are primary data obtained through field studies by conducting site surveys and conducting direct interviews with three managers with different movie boxes, namely movie box me, dm and mb, three movie box lovers and three community members. around the movie box. The data that has been obtained will then be processed and presented in the form of a narrative. Based on the results of the data that has been obtained, it can be concluded that it is true that the movie box has the potential to be misused as a place of deviation because there is no supervision by the movie box manager and frees visitors or movie box connoisseurs to do anything in it.
