Abstract

In the construction of civil engineering buildings built on peat soils, many problems are encountered, such as low carrying capacity, high moisture content when wet and excessive decline. The strength of peat soils used as the basis of a construction needs to be improved one of its physical properties by stabilizing it. This study aims to determine the effect of peat soil stabilization using lime and EvoCrete on bearing strength. The original land was taken at the location of Pinang Sebatang Village, Tualang Subdistrict, Siak Regency, additional material from EvoCrete, the factory material of Shamrok Geo Science LTD Francis and the lime is taken from PT. Brataco, Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra Province. The research examination method refers to the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Material ) and SNI procedures. Free compressive strength test (UCS ) with the variation of Evocrete mixing by level 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% by taking the optimal value and for the lime by level3%, 6%, 9% and 12% with 7, 14, and 28 days of ripening. Test pieces for free press are done to meet compaction standard at optimal water content. The results of testing the physical properties of the original soil are known that the soil location of the Perawang road in Siak Regency is the original soil type with a water content of 130.698% and qu = 1.03 kg/cm2. From the testing carried out mixing the optimal value of mixing EvoCrete 10% with the value of qu = 1.74 kg/cm2. For mixing EvoCrete with lime with the highest value of 9% with a value of qu = 3.68 kg/cm2. Curing duration in the variation of the original soil mixture and the addition of the highest value of EvoCrete and lime increased with the highest value of 4.90 kg / cm2.
