Abstract

Pekanbaru City Manpower Department has made a strategy as an effort to reduce unemployment in the city of Pekanbaru, the strategy is carried out by the Pekanbaru City Manpower Office in the form of a job fair program workforce productivity training, conducting apprenticeship programs, conducting entrepreneurship training activities and labor-intensive activities. This program is strategy that was carried out by the Pekanbaru City Manpower Office as an effort to reduce unemployment in the city of Pekanbaru. The purpose of This research is to find out whether the City Manpower Office strategy Pekanbaru in overcoming the problem of unemployment in the city of Pekanbaru and the factors which become obstacles in the Pekanbaru City Manpower Office overcome the problem of unemployment in the city of Pekanbaru. This research using quantitative research methods with a descriptive approach. For get the results of this research is done by interviews, dissemination questionnaire and straightforward pengataman, so the results of this study shows that the strategy carried out by the Pekanbaru City Manpower Office unable to overcome the problem of unemployment in the city of Pekanbaru, because there are still many people who are still difficult to get work in Pekanbaru City and there are still people who don't know about it there are activities or programs implemented by the City Manpower Office Pekanbaru.
