Abstract

This measuring instrument already exists and was developed by Pratiwi, Santana, Muriska, and Yanti (2018) in a previous study, but the research had not been tested for its construct. This study is a follow-up study which aims to test the validity of the construct of the ujub scale which is compiled based on the ujub concept proposed by Al-Ghazali (1996, 2005, 2008, 2014), Farid (2008), Daud (2005) and Syahhat (2001). The compound scale consists of 4 aspects and 79 items. The sample used in this study was 202 students of the Islamic University of Riau taken using an accidental sampling technique. The results of construct validity testing using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) showed that the CFA test model 1 (first order is unidimensional) on 4 aspects on the ujub scale is declared fit. The results of the analysis of model 2 (second order model) also showed that all aspects were able to reflect the end variables validly and significantly with Chi-square = 3446.38, df = 2015, P-Value = 0.00000 and RMSEA = 0.059, while the analysis construct reliability obtained by the value of CR (Construct Reliability) = 0.99 which means that the compound scale has good reliability. Thus, the ujub scale is a valid and reliable measuring tool to measure the ujub in Muslim participants.
