Abstract

ABSTRACT ANDRE SOFIAN (174310050) “The Effect of Giving Different Types of Molluscs on Survival and Growth of Snakehead Fish Seed (Channa striata)”. Under the guidance of Ir. T. Iskandar Johan, M.Si. This research was conducted from April to May 2021 at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving different types of molluscs on survival and growth of snakehead fish (Channa striata) and to determine which type of molluscs were good for survival and growth of snakehead fish (Channa striata). The materials used in this study were snakehead fish (Channa striata), golden snail (Pomacea canaliculata), rice field snail (Pila ampullaceal), snail (Achatina fulica) and mangrove snail (Telescopium telescopium). The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P0 (Pellet PF500), P1 (Snail), P2 (Golden snail), P3 (Snail Sawah) and P4 (Snail Mangrove). The results showed the survival rate of this study was 100% in each treatment, the best treatment was in the P1 treatment with feeding using snails which could produce growth in absolute weight of snakehead fish seeds 2.54 grams, absolute length growth of snakehead fish seeds 4.33 cm , daily growth rate of 9.08% and feed conversion of 1.00.
