Abstract

This study aims to determine the role and obstacles of the Government of Rokan Hilir Regency in the Development of Lake Napangga Tanjung Medan Tourism Object. The type of research used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. To answer the problem, the main informants and additional informants were determined. The data collected in this research is through field studies, namely by conducting interviews, observation and documentation. Then from all the data collected, it is classified according to its type and form and then presented descriptively. Based on the results of the study, firstly, the role of the Rokan Hilir Regency Government in the Development of Lake Napangga Tanjung Medan Tourism Object as a whole has played a significant role. Where the Rokan Hilir Regency Government has determined the Lake Napangga tourist attraction area as one of the government's assets, a community group that is concerned with the tourism sector is Pokdarwis Napangga. Then the government of Rokan Hilir Regency has built several types of buildings such as roads leading to the lake, jungle houses, and selfie spots. The existence of a network of cooperation between the government of Rokan Hilir Regency and the Head of Tanjung Medan, so that one of the annual agendas is realized in the form of the Lake Napangga event. Second, there are obstacles to the Rokan Hilir Regency government in developing Lake Napangga tourism objects, namely the limited budget allocation owned by the Tourism Office for tourism development, the lack of Pokdarwis innovation that has been formed by the Penghuluan government in developing tourism objects, the lack of promotions carried out in introducing and reminding the public about the existence of Lake Napangga.
