Abstract

ABSTRACT Criminal acts are not only committed by adults, but children can also do it. Criminal acts committed by children today include theft, rape, assault, drug abuse, and so on. To be accountable for his actions, the child is serving a sentence in accordance with the judge's decision in the correctional institution. In the correctional institution, children receive guidance so that when they return to society they are better off and do not repeat their actions again. The main problem in this study is How the Process of Fostering Child Inmates conducted in the Institute of Special Development of Children Klas II Pekanbaru City and What Are the Factors Inhibiting the Process of Fostering Child Inmates in the Special Development Institute of Children Klas II Pekanbaru City. The research method used in this study is sociological law research by conducting live interviews. While the nature of this research is descriptive, which describes in detail about the pattern of coaching at the Institute of Special Development of Children Klas II Koya Pekanbaru and factors inhibiting the coaching process at the Special Development Institute of Children Klas II Pekanbaru City. The results of the research obtained are about] the efforts and processes of fostering child inmates and the inhibitory factors of the coaching process conducted by the Institute for Special Development of Children Klas II Pekanbaru City because of the difficulty of the child to interact and mingle with the LPKA environment that is still considered new by the child. And also one of the hampers of the coaching process due to the child's psychic who is also disturbed in connection with the crimes he has committed or the punishment that has been received by him. Countermeasures are initiated from pre-emtif efforts that are more directed at the cultivation of good morals, virtuous, both in terms of religion and morals in child inmates. In addition, it is also improved legal counseling, coaching and training for child inmates so that the child can feel comfortable in the LPKA environment and can blend and adapt to other children to be able to follow the coaching process well and comfortable.
