Abstract

Farmers as managers of their farms must have work behavior in running and developing their farming business. Such as vegetable farmers who are in Maharatu Village, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. These vegetable farmers continue to work as farmers, although currently many workers in the agricultural sector are switching to other, more secure jobs to earn higher incomes. From this condition, the writer wants to see how the Community Empowerment of Vegetable Farmers by the Village Head in Maharatu Village, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. From the problem above, the writer can formulate the formulation of the problem in this research, namely How the Maharatu Village Government Strategy to empower vegetable farmers in Maharatu Marpoyan Damai Village. This type of research is qualitative in nature which was carried out in Maharatu Village, Marpoyan Damai District, , , data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and documentation. The theory used in this research is the theory of empowerment which has three indicators, namely: 1. development, 2. strengthening, 3. protection. The results obtained from this research are that the empowerment carried out by the Pekanbaru City Agriculture Service is not yet maximal
