Abstract

The research entitled "The Effect of Sound Source Frequency Exposure on the Growth of Roses (Rosa hybrida) on Various Planting Media" was carried out at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, aiming to determine the interaction effect of exposure to sound source frequencies and various planting media on the growth of roses. The design used is a split plot design which consists of the main plot, namely Exposure to Sound Source Frequency (F) consisting of 4 levels, namely without exposure, Murottal Qur'an, Rock Music, and Pop Music and a subplot namely Planting Media (M) consisting of 5 levels, namely humus, rice husk, husk charcoal, cocopeat, and moss. Thus, 20 units of treatment combination were obtained with 3 replications and consisted of 60 experimental units with a total of 60 plants. Observational data were analyzed statistically and further tested for BNT at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of exposure to sound source frequency and planting media was significant on the parameters of flower number and flower diameter with the best combination of Murottal Qur'an frequency and Moss growing media. The effect of exposure to the frequency of sound sources on roses is real on all parameters with the best treatment of Murottal Qur'an. The effect of various growing media on rose plants was real on all parameters with the best treatment being moss growing media.
