Abstract
The use of sugarcane bagasse as an adsorption medium by filtration method uses a filter housing to improve the quality of the produced water. With the use of sugarcane, bagasse powder can reduce the oil content, pH, salinity, NTU, conductivity, TDS, phosphate content, carbon dioxide, SRB, and also can increase the dissolved oxygen in produced water. This study uses an experimental method, the stage of the research method being carried out is the study of literature then begins to work including adsorption of produced water oil using sugarcane bagasse active powder using a water filter. The material used is sugarcane bagasse which is dried for 2 days. Then mashed to pass on a 30 mesh sieve, after that it is activated by soaking 15% HCL for 24 then dried in the oven to dry. Then the adsorption process is carried out using a water filter housing that cartridge filters have been filled with sugarcane bagasse active powder. The adsorption process is carried out for 3 days with the results taking every 3 hours. Based on the test results show that sugarcane bagasse can reduce oil content from 43.81 ppm to 26.61 ppm, salinity 6.7 mg/L to 6.3 mg/L, phosphate content from 0.31 to 0.28, sulfite 8 ppm to 7.6 ppm, conductivity from 11.82 µS/cm to 11.2 πS/cm, TDS which was initially 6.52 mg/L to 6.15 mg/L, total iron (FE) 0.04 ml/L to 0.02 ml/L, water pH from 8.22 to 7.07 and increased oxygen content from 15 ppb to 21 ppb.
