Abstract

The research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for 7 months, namely September 2020 - March 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction and main effect of POC and EFB Compost on elephant ginger plants. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) in a factorial manner consisting of two factors. The first factor is the type of POC (P) and the second factor is EFB compost (K), each consisting of 4 levels. Parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers per clump, weight of wet rhizome, weight of wet rhizome per clump, weight of dry rhizome per clump and harvest index. The data were analyzed statistically and followed by BNJ level 5%. The results showed that the interaction of POC types and EFB compost had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of tillers per clump, root weight, wet rhizome weight per clump and dry rhizome weight per clump, but in interaction the harvest index parameter had no significant effect. The best treatment was found in the combination of POC coconut water 35ml/l/plant and EFB compost 3kg/plot (P3K3). The main effect of the type of POC significantly affected all parameters with the best treatment of POC coconut water (P3). The main effect of OPEFB compost was significant on all parameters with the best dose of 3kg/plot (K3).
